Info
A high point of the second leg of the Joshua Tree US Tour is the spontaneous 'Save The Yuppies' free concert at San Francisco’s Justin Herman Plaza, on 11 November 1987. Only two hours before the start of the concert its organisation and legality are finally secured. 20.000 people gather within minutes to see U2. The back of a track functions as the stage, and the band plays nine songs.
During the gig Bono sprays the slogan 'Rock'n'Roll Stops The Traffic' onto a monument. He is subsquently sued by San Francisco City Administration and escapes penalty only by paying the cleaning costs.
