Info

Captain America's Cookhouse and Bar is Dublin’s response to the Hard Rock Cafe. In a nice atmosphere, and surrounded by memorabilia of U2, REM, The Rolling Stones, Phil Collins, Mel Gibson, Cindy Crawford, Van Morrison, Deborah Harry and others it offers the kind of food you would expect from an American restaurant:fried mushrooms, baked mozzarella and potato wedges are a good taste for the main courses to follow, likeBurger, Steaks and some other specialties. The entire menu can be found on the official homepage. Of course the obligatory TVs with music videos are also present, as well as a large offering of cocktails (with Happy Hour from 12:00h to 20:00h every day, over 40 cocktails around € 4.15). And even one or the other U2 member has allegedly occasionally been spotted at the bar – but don’t hold your breath.
Though from our last visit we cannot quite recommend the burgers (too dry), Captain America's is definitely worth a visit! Some of the impressive collector’s items on the walls, like a drum kit with signatures by U2, Bono’s muscle shirt from the Popmart Tour or a guitar owned by The Edge make up for the slightly exaggerated prices. Finally, the official homepage offers vouchers for a 10% Discount for Sunday to Wednesday (except December).
