Beim Konzert wurden 24 Songs gespielt (ohne Snippets). Insgesamt wurden 2 Songs mehr als beim Konzert zuvor gespielt. Es waren 21 Songs gleich wie beim vorherigen Konzert. Neu hinzu kamen folgende 3 Songs: The Cry, With Or Without You, Party Girl
Bei ihren zweiten Auftritt im Rahmen der Vertigo Tour in Europa spielen U2 wieder ein Sicherheits-Set. Nachdem Songs wie 'Crumbs From Your Table', 'All I Want Is You', 'Original Of The Species' und 'Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses', sowie 'With Or Without You' am Nachmittag eingeprobt wurden, schaffte es nur einer dieser Songs in die Setlist, 'Until The End Of The World' flog im Gegensatz zu Brüssel raus. Die Stimmung im Publikum war sehr gut, Bono bedankt sich bei Herbert Grönemeyer und Wim Wenders. Er sagt auf Deutsch: "Das ist der Moment to make poverty history" und nimmt noch Stellung zum G8 Gipfel dieser Tage. Zum Schluß gibt es noch einmal eine Überraschung: Party Girl findet den Weg in die Setliste. Vertigo zum Zweiten beendet das Konzert pünktlich um 23:00 Uhr. Berichten zu Folge war die Stimmung heute wesentlich besser als in Brüssel, die Band war gut d'rauf, die Songs liefen flüssiger und Bono ging viel mehr auf das Publikum ein.

Sunday, I was in a place called Gelsenkirchen, Germany
We were at the kick-off in Brussels and U2 played a good concert, but nothing more to us ... BUT in the beautiful Arena Auf Schalke they are really wonderful, U2 was at his best ... and the audience gave U2 what they wanted ... we loved the atmosphere there in Germany, it was so great that we should never forget this show in Germany !!!
Many greetz to my neigbours in the show (a little blond girl that I had lifted a couple turns in the sky so that she could see Bono and The Edge; also the German boys I'v met and singing with ...)
