In einem Interview mit 'Undercover' erzählt Jools Holland wie es zu seiner Zusammenarbeit mit einer Vielzahl von Künstlern kommt, und nimmt U2 als Beispiel: "Wir haben früher in kleinen Pubs mit U2 gespielt. Ich erinnere mich, wie wir mal in einem Pub Namens 'The Hope and Anchor' gespielt haben und das Publikum bestand nur aus einem Mann und einem Hund...". Im November letzten Jahres hatte Bono für das Album 'More Friends-Small World Big Band Vol. 2' von Jools Holland eine neue Version von 'If you wear that Velvet Dress' aufgenommen (News). ...Acts who have so far passed by the Jools Holland studio include Bono, Norah Jones, Jamiroquai, Robert Plant, and even the late Beatle George Harrison. So how does Jools get the acts? "I suppose I'm fortunate because I've been around for a while now and a bit like my orchestra, it's evolved into knowing all these different people" he tells Undercover News. "As an example if we start right at the end, we got Bono when Squeeze first started playing. We used to play in small pubs with U2. I remember playing in this pub in Islington where they were called The Hope and Anchor and there was literally just a man and a dog who came to see us, and after a while the man left and then after a while the dog left and it was just us and U2 left playing in the cellar of this pub.
