Das Savoy Cinema ist das älteste Kino in Dublin und besitzt bis heute die größte Kinoleinwand in ganz Irland. Es ist sozusagen 'das' Premierenkino in Irland. Hier fand 1988 auch die Weltpremiere von 'Rattle And Hum ' statt, bei der U2 auch einige Songs live spielten. Im Jahre 2003 feierten Bono und Edge hier die Irland-Premiere von 'Gangs Of New York ' und performten abermals zwei Songs live.

The Savoy Cinema is Dublin's oldest Cinema and features Ireland's largest screen even today. In other words, it is 'the' Cinema for movie premieres in Ireland. In 1988 the world premiere of 'Rattle And Hum ' took place here, for which U2 also played a few songs. In 2003 Bono and Edge celebrated the Ireland premiere of 'Gangs Of New York ' here, and again performed a couple of songs.

U2’s first Berlin concert took place here in the Kant Cinema in Berlin-Charlottenburg on 17 February 1981. With Hamburg and Munich it was the first time ever the band played in Germany.

Im Savoy Cinema in Dublin findet die Irland-Premiere des Films 'Gangs Of New York' statt. Bei der anschließenden Aftershow-Party im Burlington Hotel spielen Bono und Edge eine Akustik-Version von 'The Hands That Built America'. Der U2-Song ist der Titelsong des Films und wird später für einen Oscar nominiert. Außerdem spielen die beiden eine Akustik-Version von 'All I Want Is You'.
